Originally composed of Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin Gore (guitars, keyboards, backing vocals and lead vocals on some songs), Andy Fletcher (keyboards, bass and occasional backing vocals) and Vince Clarke (keyboards, guitar and vocals), the band has experienced changes in their lineup over the years, establishing the foundation for their future success and demonstrating their ability to create innovative music while maintaining their authenticity.
