Tame Impala

Tame Impala is an Australian psychedelic rock music project created by Kevin Parker in Perth, Western Australia, in 2007. Although technically a solo project by Parker, who writes, records, produces, and plays most instruments, Tame Impala performs as a band live with additional members. The project debuted with the self-titled EP in 2008, but it was with their first studio album, 'Innerspeaker' (2010), that they gained international recognition, being acclaimed by critics and establishing the band's characteristic sound: a blend of 1960s and 1970s psychedelic rock with modern production and synthesizers. Their second album, 'Lonerism' (2012), consolidated their success and received a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album, in addition to being considered one of the best albums of the decade. 'Currents' (2015) marked a significant evolution towards a more electronic and pop sound, with hits like 'The Less I Know The Better' and 'Let It Happen', which expanded their audience and earned them another Grammy nomination. 'The Slow Rush' (2020) continued exploring these sounds while maintaining the psychedelic essence. Tame Impala has been recognized for their innovation in music production, their ability to create immersive sound atmospheres, and for significantly influencing contemporary alternative rock and electronic music.
